Boujour Degree!

I survived 5 days of orientation! I finally have some free time so I’m gonna share on the orientation week, mainly called as Minggu Mesra Mahasiswa @ 3M by UKM, that I went through.

My registration date was on 2 September on Monday so fam and I went to KL on Friday right after my sisters came back home from school. That morning, I had to register myself at Dewan Tun Syed Nasir (DTSN) in between 8:30am to 12:30pm. The registration dress code was white tudung bawal, red baju kurung and black covered shoes. I was really busy throughout the week that I completely forgot to take some photos 😔. But here's a mirror selfie of me right before I went for registration!

The registration process was super fast cause most of the documents they needed had been uploaded into their website before the registration date. All we had to do was sign our attendance, take our room keys, some college T-shirts and their bag pack. And when you're done with that you're free to do whatever you want, wherever you want to go with your family - all before 5pm! We had to be there in DTSN by 4:45pm to prepare things. So, punctuality is KEY!

The whole orientation week was 100% handled by Kolej Tun Syed Nasir (KTSN) seniors (from Year 2 and above) and some FELOs. They're called as Pemudah Cara - PC, not Faci ok! None of them told us to call them as Akak or Abang ok so cool gituw. Then they introduced their whole Pemudah Cara family, got many departments lah from Protocol to Discipline to Transportation and etc. Then they picked out Penghulu (Ketua Blok for guys), Penghuluwati (Ketua Blok for girls) and some Ketua Aras. and guess what peeps.. I WAS THE PENGHULUWATI OMGGGGG. Unexpected but things happened..... Someone I made friends with said I was chosen to be one because I was active in the Telegram groupchat but idk lah, so beware......... 😈 Later that night we were introduced to our college principal and the administration. Got ice breaking session with them also you know! Then we were divided by groups according to the animals we got in our files - SERIGALA RIGHT HERE! (Shoutout to my lovely members from the group gonna miss yall!) and played games to know each other better. They made us do cheers too. All the PCs were madly supportive, no one was shy shy cat. Shoutout to yall too!!!!!! Bedtime was around 12am, but I barely slept cause it was the first day in a new place huhu but don't worry, the next nights were comfy already. 

For both Tuesday and Wednesday, we had to go to respective faculties for more exposure on our courses. Believe it or not, we had to walk by foot from KTSN to the faculties on Tuesday and it took us about 25 minutes. On Wednesday we went there by the shuttle bus yay! Same thing happened at KTSN happened at the faculty, we were separated into groups and played games like 'Who Am I? Doppelganger', Explorace (which included places we were going to use in Year 1) and etc. My group was called Baby Sayang cause our buddy in-charge called herself baby 😻. Again shoutout to Group 7 Baby Sayang, we nearly won third place with a gap of 0.0x% je but we had the highest score for Charades - 30/50! Here's a screencap of our group-cheer. Moving on to Thursday, students from KL and Cheras had to go to Bangi campus for the official event for new students. There were a lot of talks obviously. But the highlight of the day was Perang DECTAR. It is where every college from UKM will make the hall super, like SUPER noisy and chant their college cheers. KTSN is a smol college so we kinda flopped BUT thanks to KTDI and Kolej Keris Mas, we had louder cheers as they joined us together!!!

Also, everyone needs to know this - It was really hot when we had our lunch outside around noon but our caring PCs got themselves torn boxes and then FANNED US!!! No other PCs from other colleges did that yo KAU ADOOOOO?! Got also a tweet complimenting KTSN PCs you know!!!! Sayang uols 💖 Later that night we had MMM Got Talent back in KTSN. My group had Disney as the theme. We chose a song from Frozen, Aladdin and took a scene from Snow White and made it into a short play. We had a wrong cue in the beginning but it had to move on 😔 But other groups were very fun to watch too!!! Cannot brain their creativity lah omg. Below is my Serigala Group!

Last day was Friday. We had activities for Domains. Well, two for each student to be precise. I had my Kebudayaan Domain in the morning and Nilai Murni Domain in the evening. For kebudayaan one, my group was taught some traditional dance steps and had to perform by teams. It was OK but I kinda messed up a bit hehe........ Nilai Murni one was just a talk by a lecturer/alumni (????) from UKM. After the second domain we literally had plenty of time to prepare ourselves for MMM's Dinner Night. They had several prizes for PCs as we voted on Google Docs and surprisingly they had an award called 'Visible Student Award' for one guy and one girl. It's an award for those who stood out during MMM week, not sure if it was the college principal's idea or what because he kinda stressed on being 'visible' during his talk that day. And you guessed again, I was awarded one!!! I was shooketh people like OUT OF ALL POTENTIAL GIRLIES I WAS THE VISIBLE ONE KE???????? 😳 People don't know me much but I bet they went like "Uhh... Iemanul who?".  Anyways, thank you sooo much KTSN for awarding it to me. I will remember this meaningful award forever!

So that's literally most of the things we did during MMM week. I might have not add in other events but I wrote quite a lot to sum things up. I have a feeling that I might sign up to become one of the PCs next year but we'll see if I can sacrifice my holiday........ Will write up more on my degree life soon. Till next time!
